Summer is the best time to don your sunnies. It not only protects your eyes from the very harmful haring araw, it also gives you the extra fashion points especially when your bikini shots are on point. But is there a general rule on sunnie shopping? Is there a “one size fits all” kind of thing when it comes to our favorite eye accessory?
Picking sunglasses for your face might sound easy. One pair may look good on your favorite rock star, but surprisingly, it makes you look BLAH! Don’t blame it on the pair though, you just need to find your perfect match! Now, all you have to do is look in the mirror, and try tracing your face outline with an erasable marker. Viola! Easy peasy, right? Now that we’ve established your face shape, time to match it with the right sunnie!
The basic rule for our shape matching is to look for the perfect pair that would not highlight certain areas you are not fond of, and emphasizing areas that would count as an asset to your face contour. You have to identify the characteristics of your face shape.
SQUARE:
- Strong jaw that is almost as wide as the forehead; wide cheekbones
This face shape requires a soft lines and not so bold frames
HEART:
- The most narrow part of this face shape is the jawline; usually with a little pointed rather than flat chin
Frames that follows the face shape works well. Wider on top than on the bottom works
OVAL:
- People with oval shaped faces have longer faces more than it is wide
Looking for frames are easy for oval shaped faces, just remember your proportions and don’t go too big or too small. Both round and square frames work
ROUND:
- Round faces are wider than it is longer
Oversized, angular, and rectangular frames work as it sets off the roundess of the face
